We perform rhinoplasty under general anesthesia therefore patients do not feel any pain. After surgery, for a few days possible pain is minimized with painkillers.
There are risks with any surgical procedure and rhinoplasty is no exception. However, as healthcare professionals, it is our duty to foresee and inform the patient correctly. Patients are always informed about this issue by us, the entire process is transparent.
Bleeding after rhinoplasty is rare. For such cases, we have contact channels that ourpatients can access 24 hours a day. By preoperative check up and blood analysis postoperative problems are minimized.
What is the age limit for
rhinoplasty?
If the patient has no seasonal allergy, it can be performed in all seasons.
Rhinoplasty is performed under general anesthesia therefore, you should not consume anything seven hours before the surgery.
The first nutrition after rhinoplastv should be consumed 3 hours after surgery with liquid or soft food. After that you do not need to go on a special diet. However hard foods should not be consumed especially those which require breaking using your teeth.
If non-absorbable sutures are used to close the collumellar incision, they should be removed within 7 to 10 days. We usually use absorbable sutures inside and for the columellar incison which do not require removal, the body gradually breaks them down and they disappear within a few weeks.
We generally remove the intranasal splints and the nose cast on the 7th day post operation. For long-term follow-up is required during the first 6 months at two-month intervals, then in the first and second year.
We use open lumen nasal splints in the nose which can help you breathe better immediately after surgery. We recommend our patients not to blow their noses at least for a week. At the end of the first week we take off the nasal splints and we instruct our patients on how to rinse their nose with saline water, which will help them to breate better and clean crusts formed i nside their noses.
